I posted another question about an issue that my fiancee and I are having w/ his ex-wife, but I also wanted to ask this as well. My fiancee isn't 100% sure that their two kids are his. His ex-wife absolutely refuses to allow the children to have a Paternity test done. She won't say why, but uses the children instead, she told my fiancee that if he wants to have the tests done, then he will have to tell the children 10 & 11, why he wants the test. I believe that if there's nothing to hide, then she shouldn't care if they are tested or not, considering that we're the ones who are paying for the tests. And in fact, the kids never have to know any differently if something bad does come out of the tests. He would still pay child support and buy them anything they needed, but it would allow him to get her under a little more control. He's had problems w/ her ever since they got a divorce, which was more than 8 years ago.
For the guy who said that my fiancee was a loser...well buddy, that "loser" is overseas fighting for your American Rights. As to his rights, she is a very demanding person, one that if you screw w/ her, she'll screw you 10x's worse than you did to her in the first place. He loves his children very much, but he's done allowing her to ruin his life. If by chance, and I don't want it to be, but if one of them or both aren't his, then perhaps she'll get off of her high horse and start acting like a human being to him and myself. He has no problem in paying child support because that's not the issue. The issue is her demeaning mannerisms towards my fiancee and myself. I truly believe that if her own family says that she's mean and a b*tch, then there is definitely something wrong. He's paying child support because he wants those 2 kids to have things that she can not afford to get them. She doesn't appreciate anything that he does and maybe have this test done will change her mind.

because the amnio has the DNA in it, cant he do a paternity test as well?
how can i go about asking him this? ho wmuch extra do you think it would cost if my insurance covers the amnio?

A Dna test just said the guy that I thought was my sons father is not his father. He was never around so I did not push the test or try to locate him. My son is 2 and a half, and there is another guy who I didnt think was the father, but I guess has to be. What do I do??? Please help!!!

I see on Yahoo about child support and how if your over 2500 in back child support you can not get a passport for whatever reason, I am re-married and my husband I am married to pays child support to a child who his wife ex has denied a paternity test to my husband and is now remarried her self. I am so sick of the laws of men having even women having to pay child support ( especially men) who have been denied a paternity test and even when told the cost will be out of our pocket, people can be upset about what I have to say but I will tell you something. Women especially play games with men when it comes to things like this I have seen it, heard it and am appuled by it, I think laws should change and I think MEN especially better start thinking about the future and when your child turns 18 you go and get a paternity test and IF the child is NOT yours you sue the mother for fraud, and for whatever else you can get her for , for all back payments. eventually this will happen.my opinion
I like your answer Tony L, see I believe the courts should stop and see each case and look and see the real deal they are blinded by what ( Mostly women do to men) and the games and everything else. Sure they can withhold a passport no problem but with holding a child from seeing the other parent doesn't seem to be a problem for them as well, where the other parent suffers.
I think Laws need to change because it hurts allot of people not just the child but the Non-custodal parent in many ways, people seem to forget that when a parent goes for child supprt by the time it hits a court they are behind and then they can never catch up especially when they ad intrest every month on top of that, I was wondering for all the americans in the USA who are in DEBT with child support who are denied paternity test or that bastard law thing ( no matter if he is or isn't your kid) is it because the welfare dept is sick of dishing out money to mothers who don't know who the kids dad really is? I bet

Does the father have any rights before birth to proof of pregnancy, Dr.'s Name, ect.?

During my divorce, I conceived a child with my then-boyfriend. My husband and I have recently decided to have this divorce decree set aside and it is null and void, so we are still legally married. This child's father is not my husband, but it's father, as I recently learned is addicted to drugs. I know this sounds very selfish, but the bio father has made this pregnancy very stressful for me and has caused a lot of trouble since I left him. But since my husband is willing to take responsibility for the child, and we are legally married, and his name will go on the birth certificate, will I have to submit the child for a paternity test if the bio father requests it? Or do I have the right to refuse because I heard that in the state of TN, if I am legally married and this child is born during the marriage, I have a right to refuse such a test.

my ex is currently incarcerated and he is denying that our newborn little boy is not his so i want to get a paternity test done.

My boyfriend and I have been together for nearly six years. I am eight months pregnant with our second child. I found out that he has been cheating on me for the past year. Actually I am not that surprised anymore because he has cheated before. He is angry at me for finding out, which I totally do not understand and he is questioning whether or not he is the real father of our baby. The other girl he was cheating with does not want him anymore either becuase she did not know about me. Is going through the attoney general the best way to prove he is the father?

Let's say a doctor examines the DNA of a mother and daughter, but does not know they are mother and daughter. Can he figure out that they are mother and daughter by looking at their DNA? In other words, is a MATERNITY TEST a specific procedure or can maternity be determined BY ACCIDENT just by looking at DNA? For example, a doctor examines blood from two victims of a crime scene. Can he determine that they are mother and daughter through his examination?

what does that mean that the person waives rights to genetic testing ? this was printed on a acknowledgement of paternity. Its past the 60 days to revoke it

and does this mean no matter what the man is responsible for the child...blood or not

My son was conceived in February 2003, he was born October 2003. His father wanted a paternity test, which I had NO problem with, considering that we were not married/together. He ordered one from on-line, a home DNA mouth swab test. We both did it, and sent it in, and it came back that he was NOT the father. I was stumped, tested someone else (through FL state), he was not the father. I had no idea what to do for 4 years. Until I decided to go through the state of NY for a paternity test, and have it professionaly done. It came back saying that guy #1 was the father. I was floored and stumped on how the home test came back saying he wasn't.

Now he pays child support every month, 0, and then owes about 6ish months in arrears, they said they could ONLY go after him for when Ii filled for child support/paternity.

What about 4 years of child support? Medical bills, daycare, and all of that?

Is there ANYTHING I can do? Either he tampered with the test, or the company did.

i have to get a paternity test done on my child because my girlfriend recently broke the news that i might not be the dad... so i want to avoid child support and any other thing that might be coming my way because of this.

who is responsible for the cost of repair?

I come from a cultural and ethnically mixed family. As far as we know we're spanish, french and irish, but it all seems like vague information seeing as how most of my oldest relatives have passed. I'd like to find living relatives and know the true origins of my ethnic background. Can anyone recommend a good ancestry dna website to order a kit, or any other recommendations. I come from a small family, and i thought it would be neat to find more living relatives out there. Thanks!

Prenatal (before your child’s birth) DNA testing:
Amniocentesis: This test is performed in the second trimester, anywhere from the 14th-20th weeks of pregnancy. During this procedure, the doctor uses ultrasound to guide a thin needle into your uterus, through your abdomen. The needle draws out a small amount of amniotic fluid, which is tested. Risks include a small chance of harming the baby and miscarriage. Other side effects may include cramping, leaking of amniotic fluid, and vaginal bleeding. A doctor's consent is needed to do this procedure for paternity testing.

Chorionic Villus Sampling (CVS): This test consists of a thin needle or tube which a doctor inserts from the vagina, through the cervix, guided by an ultrasound, to obtain chorionic villi. Chorionic villi are little finger-like pieces of tissue attached to the wall of the uterus. The chorionic villi and the fetus come from the same fertilized egg, and have the same genetic makeup.
How much did it cost? Did you have any side effects and was the baby ok?
Here is the reason I want to do it!

Ok so I got put into a situation that really sucks. Let me give you guys a little history of me and this girl. We dated for 3 years, she cheated on me and we haven't been dating for the past 2 years. I am 20 and she is 21. I live in California and she lives Michigan. So i go back to Michigan back in Oct and ran into her. We ended up having s*x 3 times.....1 time without a condom( I know I'm stupid for doing that). We haven't talked since the other day and she tells me that she is pregnant and she doesn't know who the dad is. Well finally the truth come out and she told me she has and had a boyfriend at the time. She's been with him for a year. I just want to know if its mine Cause if its mine i want to be there throughout the experience. If its not mine i don't want to waste my time and money when its not my responsibility.

And if so...can he also be ordered to take a paternity test? I know that there wont be any child support enforcement until they establish paternity...but I turn 18 before he does. Can I still get child support?

I never had a child so I have no idea how this works. My Ex is almost 6 months pregnant. I read everywhere that it is best to have paternity test after baby is born. My question is, how soon is birth certificate given after birth? Do they give you enough time to have paternity test done before my name is put on certificate? I am in NY if it matters.

I'm married and I have a son already. This problem has been going on for some time and if she won't I have to get this taken care of because I want to join the armed forces.

I recently had a paternity test taken for my son, we dont know the results, but I would like to know if I can still go through child enforcement to do a legal test ? I want full custody because the father was not in the picture at all and now he wants to have rights, and I do not want him to try to take a baby he hasnt even seen. I am the only one on the birth certificate and I am a great parent. what should I do to get full custody besides a lawyer?

Can someone give me some advice on where I should get a paternity test that is the fastest possible? Is there one online and I need a "real" place.

I have found the woman I believe to be my half sister. We are considering taking a DNA test to see--however, the father we share is not available. Is blood better than buccal for the test? Are we likely to get false indicators? How do I know the company is reputable?
