Can a paternal grandmother perform a DNA test on a child to determine paternity?
Trying to find out if grandchild is MY grandchild. Father unavailable to perform test.

You may have to get permission from the parents. If they disagree, maybe you can take it to court, and you may win. I mean, clearly if the parents are not agreeing, they are hiding something. Best of luck.
You can not get a DNA test without the fathers DNA. They have to be able to match it to something…..
If the mother of the child in question was agreeable to it then yes. However if she is against it, it would be harder grandparents just don’t have the same rights that parents have.
They do it on Maury all the time in cases where the father as died.
Since you are the mother of the father then I would say no. If you and your sons father gave samples it could be narrowed down to maybe 85% accuracy but that probably would cost more
