CAN A REGULAR PATERNITY TEST BE USED TO LOWER CHILD SUPPORT?
HERE IS MY PROBLEM, I AM CURRENTLY PAYING CHILD SUPPORT FOR MY DAUGHTER, THERE IS ANOTHER CHILD THAT I WILL BE GETTING A PATERNITY TEST FOR. I KNOW THAT IN ORDER TO CHANGE HER LAST NAME, BE ON THE B.C AND IF SHE WANTS TO GO TO COURT FOR CHILD SUPPORT WE MUST DO A LEGALLY BINDING PATERNITY TEST. NOW-IF I TAKE MY FIRST DAUGHTERS MOTHER BACK TO COURT TO LOWER HER CHILD SUPPORT WOULD I BE ABLE TO USE THE PERSONAL USE PATERNITY TEST THAT IVE PURCHASED.OR WOULD I NEED TO DO A LEGAL ONE FOR THAT ALSO

Let me guess, you knocked up this other woman while you were still with your baby’s momma. Now that you have another to support you want to lower the child support for YOUR CHILD. Class act.
Fist, receiving a child support order on a second child will not have an impact on that amount you owe on the first child.
Second, you will have to have a court approved paternity test on the second child. Also, just because you are proved to be the child’s father does not mean that the baby’s name will be changed on the birth certificate. If the mother used her last name, that is the child’s name. You will have to get a court order for a name change before the child can legally carry your last name.
I hope you get your life in order and are more careful in the future. There are so many children out there doing without because of non-custodial parents not paying appropriate support. I hope you are involved in your children’s lives. They need their dads more than you might ever know.
You will need to have a documented professional paternity test for it to be considered in court proceedings. A paternity test wouldn’t lower your child support. Going to court and discussing the matter with the custodial parent will. The judge will decide on that. They just go by estimated costs of raising a child and then use your income to factor in how much you should be liable for.
Something you could consider would be to do joint custody. You can make it to where you will no longer be legally liable for child support and you can support your daughters in the ways that you see they really need (clothes, shoes, such). If you are a responsible parent and there’s no reason why a judge would not be in your favor, this would be the best choice, in the way of having to pay ridiculous amounts of child support.
you need a legal one and just because you will have another child to pay for doesn’t necessarily mean your support payment will be lowered for the first one. i have another suggestion for you, but i’m sure you don’t want to hear it.
