My daughter has real reservations about giving any organization her DNA. Should I worry about possible problems such as theft of the information, etc.?

There is limited chance that I will find my bio-parents until the state I am from opens up the records (fingers crossed it will be soon!), but I am thinking of doing this DNA test for ancestry just for fun (I doubt it is all that reliable, but still would be interesting). If money wasn't an object, would you give it a try? And would you do your paternal or maternal line?

what web site offers a free genealogy test ? Thanks
I saw on one site where someone said you can do it for 0.00. I saw this on channel 8 with Oprah and Qunicy Jones and others. It was amazing what they discovered about their ansestors.
I'm 14 and very interested in where I'm from. I want to know where i can get information on being tested so that I can complete this dream.
which are the best DNA ancestry tests to take? i want to know my ancestry for sure, but i don't want to spend a ton of money. i've heard of ones where you take a cheek swab and send it to a DNA lab for analysis. what is a reliable and inexpensive test to take?
Where did you take it and how detailed /accurate were the results/ how pricey was it? Did it tell you what you wanted to know?
I come from a cultural and ethnically mixed family. As far as we know we're spanish, french and irish, but it all seems like vague information seeing as how most of my oldest relatives have passed. I'd like to find living relatives and know the true origins of my ethnic background. Can anyone recommend a good ancestry dna website to order a kit, or any other recommendations. I come from a small family, and i thought it would be neat to find more living relatives out there. Thanks!
