How can I get a DNA test for my daughter without my wife knowing?
My daughter is almost 4 weeks old and she honestly looks nothing like me. All my close friends agree. I think she looks like one of my wife's co workers. They went on a business trip around the time my daughter was concieved. I do not want to acuse my wife and be wrong. I also do not want to ruin our relationship if Im wrong. Is there a way for me to get a dna test for me and my daughter without my wife's knowledge?

yeah…..they have home DNA tests now…..they have one where u just insert a cotton swab in her mouth (no blood test)….google it!

Dude, this entire Q is silly.
The baby still has a ton of growing to do. 4 weeks ain’t enough to be jumping to conclusion. And you wouldn’t be able to do it without her knowledge, anyway.
I think you can take a q-tip and swab some cells inside her mouth, then have it tested in a lab.
But you should know that babies are notorious for not looking like either parent for a long time.
they sell dna test at pharmacies now only requires mouth swabs of your daughter and yourself
4 week olds usually don’t look like anyone…

Four weeks is too early to tell. I would be extremely cautious in how your suspicions come accross to your wife. It could ruin your marriage if she thinks you suspect the baby isn’t yours. I’ve seen it happen to my best friend. The baby was his, but he didn’t believe it because he was simply paranoid – she’d never cheated. But after he treated her like crap for her entire pregnancy and while the baby was still too little to tell, she finally turned around and found comfort with another man – one who trusted her. As the baby got bigger, it became obvious it was his. He hasn’t stopped paying for his mistake yet.
Just get the test done……..your wife doesn’t even need to know or approve it.
And hey…….trust me………this stuff happens A LOT.
One of my friends found out that his son wasn’t really his son.
His wife knew it and didn’t tell him.
He found an e-mail that had pics of his son being sent to some other address and the mail said, here’s "……." at his baseball game……….he’s really starting to look like you.
Now my buddy is paying child support.

Edit: I don’t know about the do-it-yourself-kit….I had a friend who used this and it said he wasn’t the father, but it turned out he was. He got in a huge fight with his fiance, of course.

um.. at 4 weeks the baby is not going to show who she looks like yet! Their features have not developed yet!
You do not need your wife’s permission to DNA test your daughter. Just find a place that does DNA testing and get the test done! They will mail you the results.. you may want to find an address to mail the results to that is not your home where your wife will find it.
There are mail-order kits. Look them up online. They used to cost about $800.
Or just arrange for a paternity test on a day when you will have the baby and your wife will be gone.
Ok wow, I guess you can have it done for $89 these days. Paternity testing is extremely common, and DNA testing is well understood technology, so this makes sense to me.

You are smart since 20% of all men think their wife’s child is theirs but in fact they had the child from an affair. there are many labs that will let you swab your inner cheek and the inner cheek of your daughter and send it to them. for some $ they will give you the result. You are smart for asking.
DNA diagnostic labs is one of these labs that do this. Google them for exact info on the procedure and cost.
BTW, if the child is not yours and you don’t make the written statement that the child is not yours and have it served to your wife (or divorce your wife for this reason), you will legally be stuck paying for this child even though it’s someone’s child for the rest of your life so you got to make your decision now. all men wonder if the child they hold in their hands is really their own and for the longest time they will brim with suspicion. they will even go down to the deli guy, the postman, the plumber …………. so thats why the mother often says to the father immediately after birth ""oh honey, he has your nose, or your dads gummy toothless smile or uncle mervins bald head"". at 4 months, all kids look so weird that its really hard to tell. dont worry, your fears are just a natural process of evolution.
if you’re so worried, just take a q-tip inner cheek swab and send it to the lab immediately while the mother is sleeping and put this settlement to rest. i wouldnt recommend those pharmacy home kits. go to a proper lab. your wife doesnt need to give consent. so use a separate mailing address and also get a second or third testing done and opinion before confronting your wife on this. a divorce is much more expensive than a lab test.
My kid looked Asian when she was born and there is none of that in either of us. I tried to deny her but they swore she came out of me…oh well….seriously dude how can you deny a child with your wife due to looks and a business trip? Insecure much? You better hope she doesn’t check up on you or she’s going to find out you’re doubting her. I’d be beyond livid. I’d probably kick you a** out!
There are DNA tests that you can buy online or at some pharmacys. You swab your cheek and the cheek of the child and send it off. Just make sure that when the results are returned by mail that you get them instead of your wife. You might want to have it sent to a friend’s home just to be sure.
