I am due in 5 weeks and the father wants a DNA test to prove its his. (it is his). Well when u go to court do they do ur case immediately or do they process it and it takes a month or two?

I don’t understand what the situation is here. I’m working under te presumption that you are seeking child support and he is contesting paternity. If he is contesting paternity, when you show up in family court for a child support order, the court will probably issue an order for you and your child to show up and give DNA samples. I don’t know how the family courts work where you are, but unless you were married at the time of conception, there probably won’t be any presumption of paternity based solely on your assertion. This means you probably will not get a child support order until the DNA results come back. When the results do come back showing he is the father, he will probably have to pay you for the support he should have been paying between the child’s birth and the establishment of paternity. DNA testing is actually a fairly quick process, but how fast the results come in will depend upon backlog.
