Paternity DNA tests 25 years ago were wrong, retests now show differently. Can my son get back child support?
Wondering what the laws are in WI regarding getting back child support once the new DNA test proved who his father is.
No, I'm not trying to recoup or 'get even' with his dad. I don't need his money. My son called me asking about it,, that's why I posted this. and yes, it most likely was blood tests back then not DNA. But i knew all along who his father was!

Since you have not run another test, there’s no clear evidence it was wrong. and 25 years ago they didn’t do DNA tests as the technology had not yet progressed that far. They used blood type comparison, which had a high rate of false confirmations of paternity, but zero cases of falsely excluding the men.
As for now, you’re five years too late to file and would on;y be considering it now for monetary greed. Not all o called single mothers raised their children alone. Frequently they get a stepfather to help or provide full financial support.

ummm no they back child support from the date you filed but like whoever you thought the dad was if he paid anything he wouldn’t get a dime back
i seriously doubt it, personally i wouldn’t even try… are you trying to recoup your expenses or get back at the father… that is how it comes across as the child in question is an adult now… but talk to a lawyer to be sure
They did not have dna test 25 years ago,it was probably a blood type test.
I’m pretty sure she said there was a new test that showed he was the Father. And as far as there are other means such as a step parent to provide support??? What kind of moral crap is that. Basically what your saying is that mothers who don’t have THE father for their children should just go get married for support reasons. It is that kind of moral crap that is messing up society these days. And apparently either he had someone else take the test or they did falsely exclude him because a new test showed he is the Father… Get your facts straight..
The courts are not going to penalize the father if the original determination of paternity was made in good faith, based on the technology available at the time. Plus in some states the statute of limitations for suing for child support runs out when the child reaches the age of majority
