This is a sticky question but there should be some legal right. I don't think a man should be able to dictate how the baby should be carried or aborted. But some women will in fact carry the baby to term just to be financially attached to the man. So I believe the best way to do this is to give the man rights to the baby during the pregnancy as if the baby were already born or have him be able to absolve himself of the rights and responsibility because the woman still has the choice of abortion. So she can choose, but now has to do so facing the fact that the man can choose to absolve himself of financial responsibility when abortion is an option.
It is unfair to think that a woman can abort due to financials but a man cannot. So there has to be a middle gorund.

if the man were carrying the embryo it would totally be up to the man since he is not. it is the womans body, the womans choice

I agree that it can sometimes create an extremely unfortunate situation, but the bottom line (and you covered this) is that it's the WOMAN'S body. An abortion is a pretty standard procedure these days, but there are still complications that can arise from having one done and the woman is obviously the only one whose actual physical health can suffer from one. I understand what you're saying though, and it is rather unfair, but it's just one of those things...it will always be this way and the rights to an individual's own body cannot and will not ever be put aside.

I totally see where your at. But I try to look at it from the point of view like...if they could do all that...then it could also have the opposite affect where the father could say he wanted the woman to have an abortion. How fair would that be to the mother nad her body?
About the fathers say in keeping the baby. Absolutely right it takes two to tango. But it only takes one to keep that baby in the uterus till it grows big enough. The best way I try to describe it, is if it was me, and the father tried to do that to me. MAKE me keep the baby in my stomach and grow it there for him. I decided to keep my baby and the father wanted the abortion. Now that we aren't together hes all for having the baby. Its our bodies to do with what we want. Sometimes its sad to see what women do do with them but those choices with live with them the rest of their lives.

i think men SHOULD have rights to the unborn baby. yea cuz as women we are so quick to sue them for child support when they dun take care of their kids. if you expect the father to take care of the child then he should have some rights and say about the unborn child. yes its your body but its his baby too. if a man wants an abortion and the woman doesnt want to, in my opnion, they shouldn't be forced to pay child support. its like going to the store and the store manager forcibly making you buy something you don't want. yea thats not fair either.
