The only DNA females would share with their father would be Autosomal which is what most of our DNA is. It would require his DNA and both half sisters DNA. Since the father is deceased don’t think it can be done.
There might be some Autosomal testing that could indicate that you are half siblings. You need to check with a lab that does that type of testing. Actually when it comes to Autosomal even full siblings will not have the exact same results. You get Autosomal 50-50 from both parents but when you get back to your grandparents it will not be 25-25-25-25. You get 50% from your paternal grandparents and 50% from your maternal grandparents but it will not be an even steven breakdown between your grandmother and grandfather in both cases. It will be bias in favor of one over the other. How this bias lands in you will vary with your other full siblings unless you have an identical twin.
Genealogy and Genetics really are not the same thing. In Genealogy we trace ancestry using documents/records. DNA testing is a tool that is used by some to see if they are a match with another family tree. You might try going under Science and Mathematics and then the sub category Biology. There isn’t a Genetics board.
the 2 of you should make a doctors appointment to go together.i think if you share some of the same DNA then yes you are half sisters,if not then your not related. go to the doctor.theyll no what there talking about more than me.
Yes, there is an Autosomal DNA Test which will prove this connection. Autosomal DNA is the DNA found in your non-sex chromosomes. Y chromosome is passed from father to son and Mitochondria is passed from your mother, these are from your sex chromosomes.
So get an Autosomal DNA Test to determine your relationship.
